The local rag rather stupidly got wind of and announced that the only Traffic Warden was about to retire and the local council hadn't found a replacement. For the few weeks after parking in the centre was a free for all until the police reluctantly took it on. The predictable chaos has happened to the town and shadenfreude has happened to me. </p>
