I have used the bike fitting service at the Tri Centre (which used to be part of the Bicycle Works but there was a management buy out a couple of years ago, both sets of owners are still on friendly terms) and I found it to by useful in correctly setting up my bikes.

Cool, thanks guys :-)
Druidh, I take it that's the measuring etc that provides an "ideal" set of angles/dimensions for a one off frame and not just bike set up (not explaining myself clearly at this time of night but hopefully you know what I mean!)

edited to add, cancel that question, just found the website tnx :-)

I used this web-based fitting calculator when I was researching road bikes last year, as did a couple of my colleagues. We bought our bikes online and seem to have picked the right sizes. No complaints after a year anyway. It's not as reassuring as having a real fitting session with an expert, I acknowledge.

I got measured at Alpine when I was buying a bike so I could go for the largest (and most efficient?) frame

Having read interesting articles about it, and seen online somewhere that bikeworks offer the service (though I couldn't see anything on their website), I wondered if anyone on here had been for a bike fitting session? How was it? Useful? Also are there any local(ish) shops offering the service (says the man with dodgy knees and iffy ankles...!)
