Hmmm the idea of blue tyres interests me... although it would make me easier to spot...

Only if you plan on frequently accelerating quickly, whereas an extra kilo of dispersed puncture resistance is handy every moment you're moving...

I've done the sums and if I go from Marathon plus to Conti Tourer Plus I'll lose about a kilo in total off the rims. That's gotta be good, right?

I use the Conti GP 4 Seasons (700x28) for touring and commuting. Three thousand or so miles this year and two punctures. That said, I'd think about something a bit meatier depending on the state of the cycle tracks I'd be encountering. I'm currently trying out some Marathon Cross tyres on my 26" hybrid-ised MTB. They seem to be a good balance.

So it looks like I can't get yellow :(

However, as my tourer is second hand and has mis-matched tyres (a black Marathon Plus up back and a skinwall Delta Cruiser up front) I'm still looking to re-tyre.

What are the panels recommendations for touring? Do I really need to go to the bother of lugging around the weight of a pair of Marathon Pluses? For info I'll mainly be onroad and doing a bit of cycle paths, nothing that would really qualify as off road though.

this one at wiggle

They only go up to x23c (I have them on my Sunday Best road bike) unfortunately. I was looking for something x32c fat and with tread and puncture resistance suitable for touring. I am convinced I found one a few weeks back but now I can't find it again.

Hmmm. Halo do a Twin Rail in different colours and 700 x 32, but I can't find a yellow. Continental do yellow tyres, but only up to 700 x 28...

Despite the fact I'm sure I've found them before, no amount of googling can turn up any 700x32c coloured tyres. I'm particularly looking for yellow. Tyre colour is particularly important to someone with my levels of obsessive-compulsive bicycle vanity!

Any ideas?
