Not that OT given the number of interests in Edinburgh history active and lurking round these parts, stopped by the City Art Centre yesterday and there's a rather good 3-floor exhibition called "A Capital View - the Art of Edinburgh on". Hunners of great paintings, prints, maps and whatnots about Edinburgh and Leith over the centuries, from the earliest to the current. Everything from Henry Raeburns to John Bellanys.

And it's free.

http://www.edinburghmuseums.org.uk/Venues/City-Art-Centre/Exhibitions/2014-15/A-Capital-View---the-Art-of-Edinburgh

Well worth an hour or so of viewing. I learnt a few things too!
