I've just bought a second hand Hase Pino from Kinetics...

Kinetics (Pino page)

Made the mistake of riding it solo, then hiring it for the day with my wife - verdict was that it made her feel like a teenager again!

So, despite not intending to buy a tandem, we lasted less than 24 hours before turning the hire into a purchase.

As a tandem, it's pretty versatile - we can swap positions with heights of 5'10" and 5'4", but the latter found the front a little bit of a stretch. We're told that trimming the boom a bit should sort that, but I don't want to do that just yet.

With steering similar to that of a cargo bike, it takes a bit of acclimatisation. Hopping on to it feels odd, but I got so used to it after the hire that the next morning's commute felt strangely twitchy and speedy!

A Pino can be quite an investment, so if you're thinking of getting one and want to see it in the metal, PM me. We've got the Rohloff geared version with a titanium frame (no longer available), but the geometry matches the current steel frame and is very similar to the coupled aluminium option.
