I was wondering how on earth I'd got it until this morning.</p> <p>Coming over the Longstone viaduct there was gaggle of bicycles coming the other way and as usual I decided to stop and let them pass. I pulled to the right and stopped, allowing myself to drop against the railings. Ouch! The mystery bruise was due to me repeatedly and with increasing casualness hitting the thin top rail of the ironworks.
