There's a sign up at the St Leonard's end of the Innocent Tunnel about the path being used for the Rat Race (http://ratrace.com/ute/route/) next Sunday.

I normally cycle out to Portobello on Sunday mornings for a swim and don't fancy having to bypass that stretch of path to take on the drivers speeding down empty Sunday morning roads – if this event's been held here before, has anyone encountered it? Or anyone planning to take part and know a little bit more about it? It's an ultra-marathon, so I'm wondering if the crowds might be scant enough for the path to still be useable. Any info would be helpful!

F.r.O.G!

Dafte beasts, sat in the middleof the Innocent Path this morning. I did my SSPCA bit and after spotting a first pair from a little distance away, turned and tried to usher them from the path. A little too much 'else' going on in their little froggy minds, so they didn't seem perturned at all at being picked up and put to the side.

Off I cycle feeling happy at doing a little good deed for the morning, when I suddenly realise, 100 yards on, there's another pair at it! I came very close to squishing them, but for a ninja-swerve. So shifted them off the path as well (they were happy to be ushered for a while, but the young lady frog was a little tired after a few hops with a chap on her back).

I saved four lives this morning. I reckon I'll wind up being some sort of mythical being for frogs...
