A few months ago I was researching battery operated head lights and I came across a German company (not B&M) that made a light that sounded ideal - it had around 5 hours battery time on decent power mode, a power indicator and I think it had a touch screen slider to move between power modes. It seemed like a company that was lesser known but the few reviews I did read were very positive. Only thing is, I can't remember the name of the company or the light model, and can't seem to find it online again.

Anybody have any ideas who I might have been looking at?

Cheers!

Have they changed? I counted less than 10 seconds of green heading East from Dalry
Also the green kicks in later at West Maitland St heading East so my usual slowing down just enough to still be moving when they change has failed.
What the h£ll? less than 10 seconds? And if you miss that you are waiting more than a minute?

I like the NE path. It works well in getting me uptown, along to Leith. However the closed mind of a few cyclists in the winter in the dark is deeply concerning.
What brought this on, well this morning about 725am heading south between Craigleith and Roseburn. Encountered cyclist coming the other way with twin high intensity lights set high. As we were passing i said the following " Can you turn the lights down please" their response was to raise their hand as if to hit me.
Iam quite willing to accept that challenging statements will evoke a response, but didn't consider that as appropriate.
If you think iam out of order then stop me. Quite happy to discuss.
As discussed on other threads, we should all try and have our lights angled downwards on cyclepaths.
Iam what some people call a short a**e, vertically challenged, whatever. Anyway in practical terms that puts my eyeline lower than most. Again that’s fine, but i do not expect to be assaulted by high intensity lights, painfully searing my eyes from 50m out till we pass. I have said it before, high set lights work fine on roads, but on cycle paths where the passing distance can often be less than a metre are totally inconsiderate.
Every winter i seriously consider avoiding the path as a result of this attitude and the misuse of this wonderful lighting technology.

My boyfriend needs (or, at least, I think my boyfriend needs) a front light for his road bike. He's been using a head torch which I don't like as the only light on a cyclist as the light isn't where most road users would look for it.

The problem is that his handlebars are larger than standard and they're taped all the way across, if you see what I mean. Does anyone know of a light that has a very adjustable bracket that would fit? It just needs to be a "be seen" light for use in town.

I was looking at the knog lights - they look like they might be made to fit but they also look like they'd be so weak as to be a waste of money. Does anyone have any experience of them?

Now that the light has returned to my evening commute, I'll no longer be needing my big lights with the rechargeable battery until October. What's best for the health of the battery - storing it fully charged or fully discharged? Or does it not make any difference?

I was out last night on the bicycle and spotted a recumbent cyclist (my first sighting in the wild) along the waterfront at Portobello.

To my point: Was he a CCE recumbent cyclist? If so 1) hello and 2) what kind of light are you using on the front? I was quite impressed with its brightness.

Well it's about time, says The Bike Chain (and yes, this does mean you're getting your lights back, though not likely today, rather tomorrow...).

'Part 1' because I'm also putting a video up of some ride-bys and photos of the light strength, but this is impressions of the lights, pros and cons.

And yes. There is dancing and juggling again.

Was somewhat confused this morning, sat on the Glasgow Edinburgh train when a nice young lady got on the train (at Linlithgow iirc).
She had an Apollo 21spd mountain bike, and had ensured she had a decent h****t and a hi-vi waistcoat.

What I found amazing was that despite spending probably around £30 on a plastic bunnet and sourcing the waistcoat she had no lights at all! (and the rear reflector though fitted was pointing at the sky)

I know we don't all travel in the dark, but even when we got off at Haymarket (about 0720) it was sufficiently dark I had both lights on. Surely fifteen/twenty quid on some led's would be money well spent? Or is it me that's missing the point?!?
