Fair play, I hadn't considered the tilt issue... night time testing is still needed lol.

I believe that you could could control the angle of tilt by employing a range of 10kg, 5kg, and 2.5kg kettle bells within said basket.

When not needed for lighting duties, they could be placed in a backpack, or tastefully arranged within the pockets of your clothing.

No need to thank me, I'm happy to help.

To dip the lights (my main worry is slight upward angle would be into other cyclist's eyes) you could cable tie a cane (or even a biro or any other non-crushing, tubular structure) across the basket. You can then cable tie the light to the cane at the front end and basket at the other end, thereby providing dipping without having to mash up your basket.

Apart from that, a great example of the bodging powers of the humble cable tie.

Chdot, unfortunately not, but I'm looking at maybe popping some on the sides of the basket at an angle. Tbh, I ride in the city so it's mostly just for visibility of me and legalness that I've done it.

Can you change the angle at all?

So I've been having some difficulty with my front lighting system due to having a basket on the front of my bike. If I put anything in said basket I often end up illuminating the basket rather than the road. I puzzled over this for quite some time until coming up with this solution. I've tested it over cobbles and tree roots and the lights have stayed put without so much as shifting. I may have some problems when I need to change the batteries, but the cable ties came from poundland, so hardly breaking the bank if I just cut them.
