&#60;p&#62;&#60;em&#62;ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: None required, a keenness to look after your bike. GENERAL AIM OF THE COURSE: To provide the basic skills to keep a bicycle roadworthy. LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the course students will have learned to: - remove a wheel and fix a puncture; - maintain and adjust gears; - maintain and adjust brakes; and - maintain and adjust bearings. GENERAL APPROACH TO THE COURSE: Week 1: Introduction to the bike, overall check, adjusting the bike to fit the individual and fixing Punctures. Week 2: Brakes - Different types, setting up and maintaining. Week 3: The Drive train, checking the chain for wear and adjusting the chain length. How to change different types of chain. Chain Rings and rear cassette. Week 4: The Drive train part II Derailleurs, setting up and adjusting. Week 5: Bearings - Bottom Brackets, headsets and hubs. MATERIALS REQUIRED BY STUDENTS: Please bring your bike along to work on. &#60;/em&#62;
