Lothian and Borders Police appealed for witnesses.</p> <p>The car was described as being small and green.</p> <p>A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "The young boy suffered a painful injury to his arm and anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police immediately.</p> <p>"We would similarly urge the driver of the car to get in touch as soon as possible.</p> <p>"There is a chance they may not have realised the severity of the collision and it is vitally important they make contact with us to explain the circumstances surrounding this incident."</em></p> <p>What kind of sick and twisted individual knocks a child down and then drives off? I mean cyclists I can understand - <em>we're</em> "fair game" apparently. But a child?</p> <p>Is Marchmont Road on or off the 20mph zone? </p>
