My middle daughter and I enjoyed the Ivy Wu collection. It's full of mad details: a carving of a man with his fox wife, a mountain rising out of the sea stitched into the hem of a jacket. Outside on the gallery/balcony a Buddhist personification of the apocalypse asleep on a couch of coiled snakes - to be tiptoed past presumably. </p> http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=5966#post-63701 Mon, 02 Apr 2012 14:51:20 +0000 NatMusScot 63701@http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/ <p>The long-list for the Telegraph Family Friendly Museum Award has been announced - the National Museum of Scotland is the only Scottish museum on the list.</p> <p>Run by Kids in Museums, the Family Friendly Award covers the whole country and every kind of collection. A panel of volunteers whittled 100 museums down to a 20-strong long-list, which will be shortlisted in April when mystery judges 'road test' the nominees. </p> <p>The National Museum of Scotland would like to encourage 'parent bloggers' to write about their experience of a family visit to the Museum on their blogs, which Kids in Museums will tweet about.
