Earlier in the day I'd been doing above 25kph for a good few miles before I hit my first sustained incline and the pedal assist kicked in as soon as I dropped into the assist zone again :-)</p> <p>I did find the limit of the assist this year though - going up a long 25% incline on a mountain road (just gravel and rock, no tarmac), I got to the point where I was barely able to keep the bike moving forward without extreme effort. You can switch them off and back on again to reboot the battery.
