Huge long trail of oil/fuel along the Grassmarket, off on which I slipped just now. Tweeted @edinhelp for what good it will do.

Did anyone else hear the World Service report about venture capital and online retailing (one of their business programmes) last week, which spent a lot of time promoting wiggle? Interesting stuff. I gather they are the biggest world-wide online cycle retailer (although the cynic in me suggests that this may be partly because the US outdoor goods is so fragmented).

Actually this begs another question -- in the US and Canada two of the biggest/trendy retailers are both membership co-ops: REI (US) and Mountain Equip Coop (Canada). Why are there no equivalents here?

I always wonder what people think when a box with 'Wiggle' on it appears for me...

Hey, just be glad you've not got my odd crunky noise. Think it's the bottom bracket. Erk. Had an interesting encounter when someone in my office asked why I had something called 'Wet Lube' on my desk.

How could I forget to put a dod of oil on the drivetrain AGAIN??!? In traffic it's not noticeable, but along the Innocent I was praying I didn't catch anyone up. Managed that, only to find someone had caught me up just as we entered the tunnel, and stayed behind me all the way through - squeaks echoing off the walls.

Lunchtime trip to Biketrax I think for some loooob.
