As uberuce says you come off just after the Scott Russell aqueduct heading into town then fly down cutlins road. At the bottom and legally in the lane that allows you to turn right, turn right. After fifty yards hop onto the cycle path, surface better than road and obviously quieter, then take the roseburn path to leith, it is going to be a great route. </p> http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=8546#post-86172 Sun, 30 Sep 2012 17:48:07 +0000 Uberuce 86172@http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/ <p>I would suggest:</p> <p>Canal or scary-looking roundabouts to Cultins Road.<br /> Thence onto Bankhead Drive's cycle <strike>obstacle course</strike> path until Broomhouse Road</p> <p>From Broomhouse Road (which has a pointless name change to Meadow Place Road) onto St John's you can then power down the greenway.</p> <p>At Roseburn Terrace you can either join the NEPN and cruise along at a stress free 15mph until Lindsay Road, or push through town on the more direct Haymarket-Leith Walk routes. </p> <p>I was pleasantly surprised by how much time I didn't waste on the longer NEPN route. Looking to find a route thats reasonably quiet ( good luck) from Calder Road park &amp; ride to Seafield Road thats suitable for a road bike. I was using the canal path with my MTB but after switching to full on roadie looking for something that wouldn't see me in the canal ( skinny tyres and canal path a poor mix). I have went along Calder road and Lanark road but at nights these are V busy so looking for something a touch more sedate.<br /> TIA<br /> S </p>
