Wasn't supposed to be that way. Went from Balerno to Broxburn then over to ecclesmachan and oatridge, down kings cavil, bit icy. Linlithgow then up to cairnpapple and throught the Bathgate alps to torphicen. All ploughed and bit of new Tarmac up there. Went a bit wrong over the top to blackridge, not passable for cars, we carried bikes in places where the drifts were heavy. It keeps you off the A71 which is busier than the A70. I think it might be a bit more direct through Livingston, too.
