@Tom, depends on the saddle. Lots of saddles these days have fancy stitching, or even little 'micropore' holes in the top surface. Good for letting air out/breathability, not so good when it rains!

I think your saddle has a hole in it and if you find that and patch it with black tape you'll fix the problem. Or trap the water in it permanently.

The Brooks saddle cover has a clever velcro strap that lets you roll it up like a baby hedgehog.

The only thing that's wrong with it is that it's so easy and tempting for thieving thieves to thieve like a thief.

I do have a fancy schmancy saddle cover in chilli pepper red polyamide. However I keep forgetting to bring it out with me. In the recent downpours I was wearing my rain cape (also chilli pepper red), which keeps the saddle nice and dry while you're riding. However once you're off the bike....I find an old supermarket shopping bag suffices in an emergency!

You can buy waterproof covers for your brooks. Or any other saddle. Or use a showercap. I use a waterproof stuff sack. Because it clips shut underneath, because it stows easily (rolls and clips around the tool roll) and because it is yeller.

Okay so parking it outside in the sunshine is probably sensible. Cool. Thanks steveo :) Either that or sneak it into the flat and attack it with the hair dryer lol.

Its probably just waterlogged. It'll dry out given time, but you'll still get a wet bum while it does so.

Okay so I was out on Sunday and me and the bike got somewhat drenched so this may have been a problem since then but yesterday as I was about to head out I noticed that my saddle appears to be producing frothy foam from the sides when you press down on it...

Has anyone had this kind of problem before? I'm not sure if it's just that the saddle still needs to dry out or if it's a more serious issue.
