I'm in karma deficit at the moment thanks to nice lady American cyclist who gave me a tube when I was unfixably snake bitten on the way home a while back.

Now know what you can and can't get away with on 23c tyres. And that there's very little point in trying to fix a pinch puncture. And to keep my eyes up a bit more when commuter racing.

Will be sure to pay it forward.

We had a thread about 'should I offer to help' awhile ago.

Can't think of any key words to narrow it down (suspect "puncture" won't be enough!)

Saw a chap this morning, but he was at the stage of pumping the tyre back up, so clearly wasn't in need of my assistance. But yes, I'll usually ask if someone is okay if they're stopped and looking mechanical, or even in certain circumstances if someone is pushing a bike.

Fixed a puncture for someone in the rain a few months back - found it quite enjoyable chatting away, and got the warm fuzzy glow from the gratitude.

I stopped last night to help a fellow cyclist out with a puncture and it's one of the wonderful things about cycling that out of the 8 or so cyclists that passed more than half checked if all was ok. Not fixed a puncture in awhile, hope the guy got home ok!

Our eyes met across the ASL, east bound at Scottish Widows...

As granny revved her engine and attempted to drive through the pedestrian phase, you said that I'd dropped a glove...

It wasn't a coquettish plea for your attention, I really had lost it, and thanks to you, I managed to find it and even reunite it with its mate; I'd dropped that one a mile earlier!

You may not be on the forum, but thanks anyway for protecting me from my own absent mindedness!
