Dave are these studs easy to replace? Mine are worn slightly after 4 months last winter and I was wondering how much os a faff replaceing them is?

That's not a winter tyre - but this is!

All a question of perspective of course. If you normally ride on sub-200g race tyres then it's easy to call a 350g tyre 'heavy' (even though three of them weigh the same as one 'proper' winter tyre).

Personally, I'd consider most of those tyres summer tyres as cr suggests - but the article isn't exactly aimed at "citycyclists", but roadies who probably won't head out if the conditions are actually inclement.

I've seen a few home bru winter tyres. Mostly involves stubby screws through an old mtb tyre with a lot of gaffertape on the inside. Usually involving a beefy set of bolt cutters to take the sharp heads off the screws.

I have a pair of Scwabe Snow tyres I'm going to fit next month. Two rows of studs with a nice sharp tread of rubber in the middle for road traction.
