Obvious question alert!

I am planning on taking the WoL to Leith, joining near Murrayfield, and I just wondered how continuous/easy to follow it is? Does it deviate from the Water much? Is it well signposted? Would a map be needed and, if so, which would be best? Any cycling apps that would help?

Thank you!
