My hardtail MTB from them has SRAM X7 groupset, Rock Shox Recon Forks and Avid Elixr 3 brakes all for £450. The groupset alone is worth around £300! Staggering value.

From memory, the carbon forks alone are worth nearly half of the bike's RRP.

Even using 7-speed and entry-level Shimano components, I'm completely mind boggled as to how they can sell the bikes they do and make any margin on it.

I ride the cheapest model of their Triban road bikes and have been very impressed with it over the last year for the price I paid (£299). Was telling the PoP'ers last week at the pub that a quote to re-build the bike from components up was over double the price to walk it out of the shop. I think they consistently get good reviews in entry level road bike tests.

Mine came with plastic toe cage pedals which I upgraded earlier this month to cleats through my LBS. When I was in Decathlon over the weekend, it looks like they're just putting standard flat pedals on the Triban 3 now and toe clips on the Triban 5 (which I think came with SPD pedals before).

The Triban 9s look like a really tasty bit of carbon fibre kit for the price but my next purchase in the far, far away future is likely to be a women's bike.

My friend has recently got a Decathlon road bike. She seems really happy with it.

I've had a few bits and bobs from them, and one big purchase in the shape of my folding bike, which I'm really pleased with. That model has now been superceded by the top end Tilt which looks like a really fantastic piece of kit.

I find things can often be out of stock in the cycling section. They are perhaps a little behind the growth in cycling, as the shelves always seem to be full in the rest of the shop. Most of their stuff is well priced. Some of the cheaper stuff is just cheap, but some of it is really decent.

Always worth a look. My caveat is that some of the stuff is cheap and good, some is dear and good (or normal price) and some is cheap and not good. Not yet come across dear and not good, so that is something. I paid fifteen quid for running shorts that are good, with decent pocket for door key. (Own brand). Ten quid for less pleasant Adidas shorts. I have a loyalty card but as yet no voucher. Once the tram stops there it will be hoaching

Bought my hardtail MTB from there last year. Really well specced, compared to similar from Evans/EBC would have paid about £300 quid more. If you can dispense with the snob value their stuffs really decent.

Hermiston Gait isn't far from my work so I'm in there quite often. I've bought quite a bit from them, mostly clothing, the quality is very acceptable.

Was in decathlon today. Quiet apart from thie mental children on their scooters bombing round the shop.i blame tHe parents. They have some good bib shorts, non silicon grippers, good pad, lightweight. Stock still low but one coming in for me. Easy enough to get on line I suppose. They also had he FJD Team Jersey they are doing for the tour. I tried this on it was lovely, tho £70. They only had one. Very light weight. in white with blue flower motif. They also had a my bike nylon rain jacket in white that was interesting, but no spec on how waterproof or how breathable. Quiet so staff were able to chat.
