Could be a new Sherlock Holmes story?

I have a too heavy crossroads frame with a three speed sturmey archer. Three gears would work if bike was lighter and I didn't have a tendency to cram two ortlieb panniers and take the shopping home.

Three speed is enough if the range is good but I find in my case tht the first gear isn't low enough formsomenclimbs and the top gear isn't high enough at times.

You do notice different stuff pootlng along on an upright three speed, I recommend it
