Especially useful that you can wander off and do other things while its on, as it doesn't need minding. Non Diy inclined can look at the trangia and its clones; same principle, much more refined and a bit heavier. The other place to read is Zen Stoves, they take stoves to another level!</p> <p>Best fuel is meths, surgical spirit is too weak and gets your pots really sooty. That and talcum powder are two things I've not owned for at least a decade, maybe more. </p> <p>Used to toughen my feet up by rubbing heels, sole, toes with surgical spirit before going hillwalking. Allegedly that was the way to do it...
