As the name suggests, it doesn't go 'brrrrring', but instead a mellifluous and low-toned 'ding dong'. My only objection is that it's a bit quiet, but it sounds lovely. Okay, the hand painted one is an expensive extravagance, but also available in a few different plain metal finishes. Te striker is on a very stiff spring.
