There's a flickr 'stream' (is that the right word?) by 'Wolfette' that has lots of good pics, especially birds, from the canal/craiglockhart area. WE first came across it when she photo'ed the goosanders at craiglockhart last Christmas. Might be someone who would add good stuff to your site.

im not all that knowledgeable with birds, i know a few but birds of prey always catch my eye but i saw a kestrel in arthurs seat a few months back, flying around the bottom of the crags opposite holyrood palace, hovering and diving. i tried to get a photo but EVERY time i got a shot, it would dive. i watched ot for a good 20 minutes, it was awesome.

Craigmillar Castle Park is heaving with buzzards. Unfortunately my SLR is film and my compact would show only a speck.

There could be a Braidburn Valley Park entry in the links page too. I cycle and walk through there most days, although the wild animals tend to keep themselves to themselves.

How local is "Edinburgh"? I know of a family of peregrine falcons but they're a few miles out from the city centre. And the city bypass around Straiton is quite good for spotting buzzards.

Down by the Water of Leith - lovely wee thing. I was sitting on the metal bench about 70-80 yards west of the weir on the western edge of Dean Village.

By yours truly...

Basically I had loads of wildlife photos fmro the last year or so, and couldn't find an online 'this is the wildlife of Edinburgh' resource, so figured why not create one, then get people to send in photos and sightings of their own and create a map of wildlife in the city.

And so EdinburghWildlife was born... The homepage explains more...
