@SRD

Partly my fault.

I just copied the link from this morning's Spokes tweet -

"
Spokes CycleCampaign (@SpokesLothian)
27/07/2013 12:55
Our #LeithWalk view: 1307 at spokes.org.uk/wordpress/docu… Now you! @CyclingEdin @John_Lauder @CllrJimOrr @thecockburn @greenerleith @CllrChasBooth

"

I assumed that there would be a Spokes view based on what was seen on Tuesday!

I presume that's still being worked on.

EDIT Now it's ME that was confused there are links to CEC diagrams and the recent comments!

http://www.spokes.org.uk/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/1307-Spokes-LW-comments.pdf

I've also go used to Spokes doing things like saying 'latest Spokesworker' with a link to the list of all Spokesworkers.

I've mentioned it, it's deliberate...

"spokes docs felt to him like they were written for a bunch of academics"

I suspect that many were written 'for' Government and council officials.

To some extent the 'plain English' versions are the Spokesworkers and Spokes leaflets.

Of course all this work is done by a tiny number of volunteers, who have built up expertise and working methods over many years.

"but is it blocking people from engaging rather than facilitating them?"

Do you mean engaging with Spokes or with the various issues by being better informed?

Is it just me? I clicked the link that Chdot posted on the Leith walk thread.

http://www.spokes.org.uk/wordpress/documents/members-campaigning/edinburgh/leith-walk/

and as so often the case, found myself baffled as to which links I should follow.

Actually, I know I am not alone, because this issue was specifically raised with me by a keen cyclist/activist, who suggested that spokes docs felt to him like they were written for a bunch of academics.

There is of course a logic to the spokes set up so that data is carefully archived, but is it blocking people from engaging rather than facilitating them?
