@Uberuce, kudos points to you for being the only one to identify this is more about the cargo delivery side of things than the current rickshaw offering.

@cc, PPP Delivery have been delivering furiously for over 2 years, almost every day (including Sundays); including the snowy days when most sensible humans refused to leave the comfort of their homes, let alone try to negotiate a laden 25KG Bullitt through treacherous snow and sludge over slippy cobbles and roads akin to ski slopes.

B-Spokes Deliveries will carry on the hard work of PPP Delivery. So, please spare us a "good luck"; anything which is making positive steps to encourage cycling, and particularly beyond just for pure leisure, should be encouraged with open arms.

I think I'd prefer to be a cargo delivery courier. All the benefits of piloting a lumbering beast of a bike, but none of the drunken foolio downsides.

I like the idea of being a pedicabist now and again. Then everytime I see one they seem to be full of drunken stags and hens and I'm put off the idea again.

Pedicabs work all year round. I should know. I used to drive them for 3 years then ran Edinburgh Pedicabs which became B-spokes. Solid stuff

"
b-spokes Merger Creates UK’s Largest Pedal Powered Rickshaw Promotion, Passenger Transport and Delivery Service

On 1 August 2013, b-spokes, the UK’s largest rickshaw promotion and passenger transport business merges with Pronto Pedal Power, Edinburgh’s first and largest cargo bicycle delivery service. The new business will trade under the b-spokes brand. As well as being passionate about pedal power and protecting the environment, the two businesses share the vision of being environmentally friendly, encouraging greater use of bikes and promoting a more sustainable future by helping to reduce carbon emissions. In keeping with their environmentally friendly ethos, b-spokes is currently re-developing their new Edinburgh based head office which will house all the rickshaws and cargo bikes and will feature eco-friendly characteristics including solar panels, recycled water and energy saving products.

There are exciting opportunities planned for the new b-spokes venture, including expansion on a national scale through franchising the b-spokes brand in major cities throughout the UK.

As well as offering passengers a fun, personalised and engaging transport experience, the pedal powered rickshaws, ad and delivery cargo bikes are eye-catching and offer clients cost-effective transport, delivery and stand-out advertising solutions.
b-spokes and Pronto Pedal Power have extensive experience of providing outdoor media, transport and delivery solutions to both blue chip and local businesses. This merger allows b-spokes to offer its customers a more comprehensive product offering.
The new delivery service will also concentrate on expanding their “last mile” delivery expertise by offering large national companies the option to drop large consignments of packages at microdistribution centres outside the congested city centre, for onward delivery by cargo bicycle. This is a sustainable and innovative concept which reduces motor traffic congestion, carbon emissions and noise pollution in our city centres.

Their combined experience will allow b-spokes to develop all areas of the business and to grow on a national scale. A stronger force together, the mission for b-spokes pedal powered promotions and pedal powered deliveries is to offer sustainable transport options and to change the way people think about cycling and protecting the environment.

"
