I remember having great trouble with my Marathon Pluses, but not because they were too tight, just that when I pushed the second bead on the rigidity of the tread pushed the first bead back off!

I guess variation in rim size is the defining factor. I don't even need levers to get the downhill tyre off and on my MTB.

I didnt know you could write so much about fixing punctures. Pretty epic.

I think I learnt by my dad giving me a puncture repair kit and some spoons and telling me to "figure it out"

/Glaswegian parents.

Can't get it to work, just as well I can already repair a puncture.

For the record I am using Firefox under Ubuntu Linux.

Am I special because I don't need tyre levers?

No, you've just never owned a bike with early 90s ISO369 Moulton rims. :-)

"Looking after stuff so it lasts its full potential lifetime is the way to go in a world of diminishing resources. It follows that knowing how to look after the bike goes hand in hand with being an enlightened eco-aware cyclist. One of the really cool things about bicycles is that they remain an antidote to disposable 'black box' culture."
