I think a lot of people will be surprised to find out they can walk further than from front door to car, car to office / car to front door of Tesco*

*other shopping barns are available.

Walking has always been better than running as less damage on the knees. It just takes longer to get to the aerobic level and expend the energy but walking 4 miles at 4 miles per hour uses same calories as running 4 miles at 8 miles per hour, it just takes 30 minutes longer.

Cycling 4 miles at 16 miles per hour burns up almost nothing but you get there very quickly.

It helps you cope at work, 'heals' your brain, makes you more creative and it could even be better for you than running. Here are six ways walking could be more powerful than you realise.
