The council have said they will sort out the coup to the east of the museum. The junction on the way out of the car park is fairly horrible. It's not easy to see where you are supposed to go as it's a sort of hump backed junction.

The mural under the express way has a bike with the chain on the wrong side and a Victorian ordinary with a Bowden cable brake.

I had another look at the bridge to nowhere this morning. There still isn't any signage on how you are supposed to get anywhere from the eastern end.

Loads of cyclists at the transport museum yesterday. The path ends there as the kelvin joins the Clyde. Though looks like you can take a route up to Patrick and another one to kelvin hall.

The Patrick path I think is ignored in favour of people cycling on the clydeside expressway, I am hoping for a short section until they meet another path. ??

Tho when I used to cycle in Glasgow it was canal towpath to drum chapel, then down to the jolly little clydeside marina at Bowling

Interesting bit in number 4 where it seems that the new M8 section will not be using the current A8 route. I wonder if the A8 will become like the northern end of the A77 is now.

They are missing a trick on the Rochsolloch / All Saints school section. Many of the kids stay in the new estates on the other side of Cairnhill. Route 75 goes right past them but the local neighbourhood watch want NCR 75 sealed off from the estate as it might encourage the wrong element to sneak in and steal their cars or terrify their women folk with uncouth utterances.

Looks like I'll still be going to Glasgow on the A89 as it's the best option.

North Lanarkshire Council have been working with a Dutch company on plans for new cycle routes. They consist of cycle lanes and Danish-style cycle tracks (1.5 metres wide) and shared use paths (3-3.5 metres wide) - not generous widths, but not unusable either, and the funny thing is that this is proposed for the kind of streets that many people insist are "too narrow" for cycling infrastructure.

A variety of other measures are proposed as well, including "bicycle streets", improved lighting, removal of barriers, reduced speed limits, and traffic calming. It all sounds so not-awful - dare I get my hopes up?

Details here: http://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=27514
