We used to go up onto the embankment as kids and 'explore'. It was a bit of an adventure in those days, it was wild, the brambles were eveywhere and the ballast was still down so it wasn't easy to walk on. It seemed to take all afternoon to get as far as the bridge at Ravelston Dykes.
