Think I may have found a new frame, woo, will order new bottom bracket (got to have some luxuries :P) and I can cannibalise most of the new-ish bits of my old bike.

And my understanding dearest will just love it when I retire to the box room to build the b**. Confidence way above my station. Possibly.

Would anyone like a Bulgarian BSO frame, slightly imperfect?

ho hum, may ride it rather gingerly home tonight then start loooking aboot for a new frame.

Are you sure it's just not pining?

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Take a magnet to it find out if its steel, try the blue peter way and hold it up to the fridge.

If its steel its probably fixable though if the metal has fatigued to the level where its cracked its probably not just sleeping.

Edit:
Ah you did say its alloy, in which case you'd be hard pressed to find a metal worker to do it and it would probably be more expensive than a good replacement.

From the weld laps, I had a feeling it was aluminium. I think your frame may have ceased to be.

Several thousand miles of service since I rolled it out of the bike station I think the BBSO has had it's chips (or its kavarma) as a large crack has appeared just at the join of the seat and top tubes.

Pic Here

Is it weldable or should I just start looking for a new frame? It's an alloy frame, which I suspect will reduce its fixability.
