We were in the back of a taxi and traffic was moving fairly slowly. In the lane next to us there was a guy driving along whilst playing a trumpet. When business was slow I'd often spend an embarrassingly long time looking out the window observing the behaviour of motorists down below.</p> <p>Mostly mobile phones. 10% of car drivers would have on in their lap, hand, craftily texting away. Taxi drivers like to write out some sort of log sheet while driving in slow traffic. I've seen a few people read a newspaper. One guy using a laptop. And a few people with tablets.</p> <p>Professional drivers seem to be the best. Middle-aged men are good too. Younger drivers have a tendency to be texting etc.</p> <p>*My employer eventually decided that the office was overstaffed and my position became redundant.
