Murray Estates own a lot of the "farm" land around there and seem to have spent a lot of time and effort in the last few years attempting to make it much more valuable by pushing the de-Greenbelt agenda. "Garden District Charette" anyone? (there's a thread somewhere about that)</p> <p><em>RBS also 'threatened' to take its World HQ elsewhere.</em><br /> Well they were already in a strop because they were blocked from developing behind St Andrew Square on site of New [old] St Andrew House. (Edinburgh needs cash.)</p> <p>There will be arguments about the value/point of the green belt - especially there (airport, motorways, Highland Showground etc.)</p> <p>Technically RBS was brownfield because it was on the site of Gogarburn Hospital. </p> <p>RBS also 'threatened' to take its World HQ elsewhere.
