It's amazing what can be freed with heat/cold, toxic substances and the (very) controlled application of force/cutting tools!
Def worth a look before writing off, though the price would have to be right.

@Smudge, re: that tandem : "Currently used as a garden ornament", ie. everything's rusted solid, don't bother trying to restore it.

Incidentally, can anyone remember tho old frame sizing rule for trad Britsh bikes? It was something like taking 5" off your trouser inside leg length to get an idea of "measured" frame size... obviously doesn't work on "compact" and mtb frame sizes but should still hold for the vintage stuff I hope!

there are some cheaper, more knackered ones in Stirling too:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Raleigh-Bike-1961-/251384963070?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item3a87b61ffe

Hmmm, saw that, quite spendy :-/ and I wonder what size it is? It's all very well saying it will fit a range of people but some of us are not blessed with Jerry Hall legs!
Still... anyone on here know the seller?

I'm idly looking for a 40's/50's bike which I could restore and stick a Trojan Mini Motor on next summer(I've got the Trojan lying in the shed and it's just too cool not to play with).

Well this isn't what I'm after but could make a beautiful project for someone on here?
