This could indicate an airlock in the coolant, which can be remedied by turning the f/freezer upside down (unplug it and empty it first, obvi...) and putting it upright again. Repeat a few times (you'll hear lots of gurgling, but don't worry) and allow an overnight pause (while upright) to let everything settle down. Then switch on again. These often have a small sensor which detects when there is ice buildup on the refridgeration pipe matrix, and switches on a small heater underneath for a minute or two. As Poco says, try doing some diags.<br /> If indeed you think the sensor or a thermostat has gone, they are usually quite cheap to replace (eg £10) if you are handy with a screwdriver. They have diagnostics there. We had a problem similar to yours and it turned out it was the 'sensors' aka carbon brushes. Very cheap to replace and they even have a video on the website showing how to do it, IIRC. The idea was to give it a total defrost. Its no longer cold, power is present, its about 10 years old, no noises coming from it(*)no gas escape or fluids anywhere silly.<br /> So ! doers the lack of noise mean the pump has given up.,and if so, can they be serviced/repaired /replaced ?also, is it poassible that it could need brushes in ther motor for the pump, or is it now just a white box ? actually the trays will be good receptacles for bike bits !<br /> any help gratefully received ! its a hotpoint , in more ways than one now !<br /> scott </p>
