<description>&#60;p&#62;Mr Knees, they're just there to help you centre your wheel more easily, as they're both pushing the wheel inwards from either side. Try putting both on one side like I did the other week and you'll see what I mean - could barely get the wheel on never mind centred. They don't make any difference to how securely your wheel is attached to yr bike.

<description>&#60;p&#62;I fitted some SKS raceblade mudguards to my road bike today. The instructions required me to remove those small springs on the q/r quills (the guard stays locate onto the quill rather than the accessory eyelets). I have it in the back of my head that these springs are required for safety reasons... does anyone think/know that their removal is unsafe?
