Guy I met at Kirriemuir audax said I would have done it in 4 hours 30, but he recommended not stopping just refuelling on the move. So not sure. I am not fast. The route is a good fast route but maybe 5000 entering is tht right? If so maybe no places to stay. I did the Etape 2 years ago and stayed at Craigmhor Lodge in Pitlochry which was excellent and is geared up for cyclists (secure storage, early breakfast on the day of the ride etc). I am staying there again for the 2014 event. There's a troop of work colleagues going up for it, 5 or 6 of us. Not going to be breaking any records, especially as I'll be on honeymoon for the 2-3 weeks beforehand. Think I put down under 5 1/2 hours to be safe, but should do it in under 5.
