I use Ron Hills and Aldi cheepo things. Both are fine for short trips on the Brompton and I wear the Ron Hills over cycling shorts for longer rides as well.

I really like my Sugoi ones. They have zips at the bottom for getting them on an off over your feet and don't slide down exposing your kidneys while riding. I don't remember how much they cost though. Not cheap but not stupid I expect.

Are the tight thingies I wear the kind of item she's looking for?

Endura Multi-Tights are really good, and fairly unisex rather than being just for blokes. They work for me perhaps because I'm tall and kind of skinny, and I don't know what shape Mrs Dave is.

My better half has one pair of waist tights which is awkward when they're in the wash. They're a wee bit long in the teeth and don't seem to be made any more, as far as I can tell.

Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for reasonably priced unpadded tights (definitely not bib longs) before I take a stab in the dark?

I'm thinking Altura stream or winter cruisers so far.
