I didn't seem to need a chainguard or skirt guard either - the crossbar keeps it out of the way of any moving parts. I find full-on sports bras a bit uncomfy and also rarely find any my size anyway. M&S do a nice pull-on crop top which is very comfortable but basically nylon and gets really sweaty. I was buying the American Apparel cotton ones but I'm feeling a bit queasy about their advertising & general sleaziness and they're not that well made either. I've got all these brilliant merino base layers, but there's not much point if your bra is a sweaty mess! I don't need that much support, but I do need something more than 'none'.
