If they're busy, they tell me that. If I've got some big work that needs done, I'll check with them before taking it in. I then leave bike with them, and we agree a time when I'll collect and they say 'we'll give you a call if we find anything beyond what we've agreed'. Ie if a part needs replacing etc. can't think of a time they've actually done that though. And then I go and collect and the bike has inevitably been ready for ages. </p> <p>Today, though, I took my bike to a different shop because bike works didn't have the part in that I needed. The shop seemed quiet. No issues mentioned. We discussed when I needed it by, I left them my phone numbers and went to work. </p> <p>Came back this evening, encountered to a school pickup, and guy was only then working on the bike, and it wouldn't be ready for 45 min - after they closed. </p> <p>Should I have rung up to check the bike was ready? </p> <p>Everything was very polite and I'm sure the work will be well done, when I go back in. </p> <p>But I've never encountered this before, so wondering if I miscalled it? </p>
