A bit more feedback on the survey. :-)

The fourth event rating section needs the correct categories (entertainment, venue, etc.).

In addition to SRD's comments clarifying what you mean by the first part of the postcode by saying first 3 characters seems strange. There's plenty of 2 and 4 letter ones around.

Does HW allow the option to add a back button to their surveys?

In time-honoured CCE tradition, I am unable to complete a survey without offering some 'feedback':

I've always been advised by survey design/quants experts to put the personal details q's at the end.

I believe there's evidence that it puts people off answering, whereas if they've answered all the meaty q's then hit the personal ones, they tend to plough on.

PART ONE

Thanks to Scoosh for patiently leading us safely out on the 'Full Value" Night Ride to Dunbar and back.

The section near Traprain Law in the almost total dark was a highlight of the year - particularly as we were doing this narrow and twisty single track on the reclined Nazca tandem.

Dunbar seemed to come up a lot quicker than I expected but Scoosh's time estimates were spot on. Richard, my co-pilot, explained that due to lack of visual indicators in the dark you do suffer a lapse in time. (This of course is meat and drink to Audaxers and our ride would be barely two stages - never mind!)
Some people on other rides opted to go down to harbour but most of our group were happy to head into the community hall.

What a great welcome and effort Cycling Dunbar had put on! Tea, coffee a choice of spicy and non-spicy veggie hot snack in a bowl with the most delicious home made bread. Most cyclists heaped both in and liked what they had Much of it locally sourced.

Please consider a donation to the charity they support.

PART TWO

Thanks to EdFoC for organising. Special thanks to Scoosh, Andy? and other leaders. Thanks to Tracy Griffen for use of her shop. Thanks to Leith Cycle for broom wagon and repairs.
Big thanks to Cycling Dunbar https://www.facebook.com/DunbarCycling

Stunning 100km Night Ride last night - 'mystery' route, pitch black country lanes, warm dry night, wonderful feed stop at West Barns (Dunbar way); return via Tyninghame, the stunning view out over the Forth - with Isle of May and Bass Rock - at 0400, then N Berwick and the coast road to breakfast at Mimi's on the Shore at 0700.

Superb arrangements by Kim and Ulli H, a number of riders doing their first ever 100km and a <strike>good</strike> great time was had by all !

I've done my two festival things - the women's cycling forum (discussed elsewhere) and the film "Half the Road", about women's pro cycling, on Monday. The film was interesting but a bit of a polemic and I thought it was a bit long.

So what is everyone doing during the festival then? I went on a lovely ride with Glaggy Cog, Laidback, Rabid Hamster? a.n.other bent trike rider, 2 germans and a couple of other plesant ladies lastnight. Many thanks for Laidback in badgering/arm twisting Claggy Cog to lead the ride. I was hoping for a running comentry, and started to do one of my own for the people not familiar with the Forth, when time allowed. We covered ~33km and ended back at Laidback where we stored bikes and went off to the Argyle for some food and drink.

What next? Who is doing what? It was good to meet some new and old CCEers I've not/previously met before.
