"</p> <p>Which reminds me that I'd meant to post a couple of weeks ago about cycling towards Roseburn and passing the Wester Coates entrance in time to see a police car edging its way onto the path. I could only just make out it's blue roof lights past the headlights. </p> <p>I've never understood the logic of sending cars along the NEPN. It's both anti-social towards law-abiding users and impractical (as well as dangerous to others) if they need to chase anyone. They had been deposited from a large police horses lorry parked in the car park beside the palace. I don't know what they fed the horses while they were stabled at Fettes, but the ultimate result had a significantly more unpleasant smell than that procduced by the more normal diet of a recreational horse.
