His friends were in another car, not riding bikes.</p> <p>I would hope that the insurance would prevent people from driving again but it probably just results in them driving without insurance. Chances are that it will be thousands per annum, especially if their old insurance had to give a big payout. There are endless examples of why not. <a href="http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=12124#post-141226">Here is a case from last week</a> which was pretty much identical only the driver got off completely free.</p> <p>He only got that punishment for having been a naughty boy previously, lets face it.</p> <p>That road cc article is right on the ball. I don't think he set out to kill anyone and he had previous which is reflected in the fact that he got a custodial sentence. But CLEARLY he should never be behind a wheel again... </p>
