I have a similar 'shopping trolley' style trailer, a Winther Donkey (Danish manufacturer) which has also been in production since the early 1980s. Now that I have the Ute and a Carry Freedom I hardly use the Donkey.

Used to use it for the supermarket run, and have also taken it camping. Powedercoat steel frame, can be used as a hand cart easily, even has a supermarket trolley castor for trundling around shops. Comes with mudguards and a waterproof cover for the ABS plastic 'bucket' that forms the trailer body. One issue is the hitch, a massive bit of steel cantilever which clamps onto the rear stays. Makes it trickier to swap 'twixt bikes than the CF. Still a good trailer but has a tendency to lurch from side to side at speed (doesn't tip over due to 'roll bar' on the hitch). It's great for shopping, picnics, trips to the beach, etc. Not cheap either, though I got mine ex-demo for a song.

The bike hod seems a more straightforward design than the new version, also l liked the A to B picture of the Brompton with what looked like a Brompton tag along and then a bike hod all attached in a line

I could see being tempted by a tartan one in an ironic way but the Carry Freedom exists.

BikeHods pricey but temptingly compact-looking, so I was going to try and get a shot of one via Waitrose's trailer-borrow scheme...

Bike Hod currently unavailable but they say they are restarting production shortly. I've got an early model which was my Dad's but the hitch is missing. Need to get around to either sourcing one or making one myself (it's a pretty simple design).

It is new but some of us older folk may remember a very similar design, at least I do, and it was called Bikehod, and was around in the early 80's...
