Ewan clocked up 42 on the day last year, cycling all the way from home but we've done almost no cycling this year so I expect he'd struggle. I suspect Mandy would struggle too and Ellen will be on the tandem. Hence the start at Dalmeny. </p> <p>How about driving further in - to Park and ride or South Gyle. Ratho would let you ride along the canal. Wester Hailes or Slateford (park at Asda) would get you closer. Last years event took it's toll on my Panda. </p> <p>Firstly the towing two bikes with two children and pedalling panda was not stable to say the least. Second the hinges in the Panda's Knees got v hot and produced a burning smell and third the free-wheel fell off 100 meters from the end of the return ride to Harrison Park.
