I had to wear one of those smog masks as my nose and throat would end up black with particulates and I would start wheezing.</p> <p>And the cycle paths were models for the worst that cycle paths have to offer in the UK. Loads of stupid little gates that you had to stop and lift your bike over plus wall to wall pointless "cyclists dismount" signs in the middle of the path for no apparent reason. </p> <p>I don't think I ever saw a cycle lane that wasn't a car park.</p> <p>Dreadful.
