So I'm slightly regretting not attending this because I just read on their website that the 2014 version of the Shadow is apparently pannier rack friendly, which seems to be quite unusual for carbon belt drive bikes. Having said that, there still hasn't been a confirmation about the details of the promised bike-to-work scheme here at Heriot-Watt Uni so I probably shouldn't get too excited in case it's actually too restrictive to consider this.

I, um, kind of just bought a Revolution Cross Pro '13 (the one with disc brakes not the '12 one that has cantis).

Very nice and shiny, and managed to get 50% off accessories because it was a bit shabby in places (mainly the white (d'oh!) saddle. Thank you to the lovely EBC Nick for sorting it all out. :)

Bah. If only there'd been a mudguard-friendly Audax model in 2006.

Putting white bar tape on a bike not good, also very last season

Bikes look good in the pictures

However, if honest it is a Pashley that I crave but do not need

New logo has gone lower case. Cross bike and Road bike featured although i assume the Cuillin and Cadence Heritage will continue with some changes?

New 'revolution' bikes use Shimano's new eight speed set up.
http://roadcyclinguk.com/gear/shimano-unveil-new-claris-groupset.html

Nine speed still popular so interesting to see eight as a new thing. Chain technically should last longer although not all chains are equal!. Ten speed though is what industry would like to sell. Sure Shimano new 8 speed stuff will work well although gaps between gears will be greater. We sell eight speed on tandems. 10 speed does allow using 34 (or even 36) sprockets so it can increase range whilst keeping gaps down.

Mind you I did ok on my Edinburgh Contour 15 speed MTB for years!

Notes 'boardman' uses Helvetica Medium Italic I think
