I quite like a ride home in the rain during summertime - so long as you know there's a kettle, a hot shower and dry towel waiting at the other end. I was on the cycle path behind Fountainbridge breweries. By the time I reached the bridge over lanark road, the heavens opened. I waited some minutes under a bridge and then thought, what the heck, other cyclists were carrying on with no waterproofs or other rain gear. </p> <p>(I had none with me either as the forecast was SUPPOSED to be sunny!) So I continued on and got totally drenched. The rain wasn't cold and it got quite pleasant really after the initial soaking. My parents insisted on my taking the car even though I tried to tell them it would be better for me to cycle. Most terrifying journey I have ever made as the car threatened to flood and break down while mowing through deep water leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere.
