Suspect they won't be organising one in Edinburgh as BikeTrax is the Brompton dealer in Edinburgh!

My Dahon Helios was at Zazou PY, but Uberuce was riding it.

It is now less snazzy than it was - Marathon plus tyres, rack and stand added. Still pretty light and (if anything) over-geared.

I've found Biketrax rather snooty about my dahon when I've gone there. Perhaps unintentional on their part or unfair on mine, but that's the impression I was left with.

Can you tell I've seriously gone off Biketrax?

Has someone told the Bromptonites about Pedal on Parliament?"

That phrase sounds like it could have been uttered during the English Civil War.

Folding PY was actually at the Zazou canal boat cafe. I recall trying Brompton, mezzo and Birdy. I thought mezzo best for riding (on short spin on towpath) and Brompton best for folding. Birdy nice too of course.

Pedro - if you got your bike from a shop I'd take it back there, but (given that you are asking) I'm assuming you didn't.

BikeTrax are the local Brompton specialists (that's where I got mine). They do have other folders than Bromptons but I don't think they sell Mezzos. They've always been very helpful when I've gone in.

Alternatively you could locate your nearest bike repairer & see what they can do for you...

I've got a D9 (2011 model) with the straight cross bar. The folding of the bike is easy and once the handlebars are in place it almost unfolds itself! The front wheel flips out of the fork and sits against the rear (which is flipped under the bike). When undfolding it locks in to the fork with a solid clunk and I've had no issues with it... yet! There is a little play in the handlebars but I'm not sure if that's wear and tear or a design flaw. When I get paid I'm going to put the thing in for a full service as I haven't a clue about folders. Anyone recommend a good shop for this sort of bike?

Just curious - What's a PY?

I do quite like the look of the Mezzo, but I have only seen a handful in real life. One or two in London and I think I've seen one in Edinburgh; that was a while ago. Even rarer than Birdys!

Seem to recall the review in AtoB was pretty favourable. I think the original models were rather under geared but I believe they have sorted that now. Which one do you have?

How does the front wheel fold work in practice? Does the front remain attached to the folded package?

I'll have a Tern folder as soon as the Cycle To Work voucher arrives; seemed to provide the most bike for the money if you don't need the minimum folded size that the Brompton gives you.
